By creating an account you agree to these terms. They are short on purpose, so please actually read them.

What PrepVault is

A revision tool. It helps you practise, keeps track of which topics you are weak on, and suggests what to revise next. It is not a replacement for your teacher, your textbook, or your exam board's own syllabus and mark schemes. Those are always the authority.

The questions and marking are generated by AI, and can be wrong

This is the most important thing here. Practice questions, their answers, their explanations and the marks given to your theory answers are produced by an AI model. Every question is checked by a second automated pass before you see it, but neither pass is a qualified examiner and both can be wrong.

• Check anything that surprises you against your syllabus, your notes or your teacher.
• A mark from PrepVault is practice feedback. It is not a grade, not a prediction, and carries no weight with any exam board.
• If a question looks wrong, use the remove option on it. That helps you and it stops it affecting your scores.

Your account

Use a real email address you can access, keep your password to yourself, and do not share an account. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us if you think someone else is using it.

Your age

PrepVault is built for school students. If you are under 16, please get a parent or guardian to read these terms and the Privacy Policy and agree before you sign up.

Fair use

Please do not:

• Use PrepVault during an actual exam, or in any way your school or exam board forbids.
• Automate or hammer the question generator. It costs real money to run, and heavy use may be limited or suspended.
• Upload material you do not have the right to use, including whole copyrighted textbooks or past papers.
• Try to break, probe or misuse the service or anyone else's account.

What you add

Syllabuses you add and answers you write stay yours. You give us permission to store and process them only so far as running the service requires, which includes sending theory answers to be marked as described in the Privacy Policy. You can delete everything at any time from Settings.

Availability

PrepVault is provided as it is, with no promise that it will always be available, error free, or unchanged. Features may change or be withdrawn. Please keep your own notes and do not rely on this as your only record of your revision.

Responsibility

We are not responsible for exam results, missed grades, or any loss that follows from using PrepVault or from relying on its questions or marking. Nothing here limits any responsibility that cannot legally be limited, including for death, personal injury, or fraud.

Ending your account

You can delete your data whenever you like in Settings, or email us to have the account removed entirely. We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms.

Changes

If these terms change in a way that matters, we will say so in the app. Carrying on using PrepVault after that means you accept the new version.

This explains what PrepVault collects, why, and who else sees it. It is written to be read, not to be skipped.

What we collect

• Your email address. Either the one you type, or the one Google gives us when you sign in with Google.
• Your name, if you give one. Optional, and only used to address you in the app.
• Your exam date, if you give one. Used to build your revision schedule.
• Your study activity. Which questions you answered, whether you got them right, how many marks you scored and when.
• Syllabuses you add and any questions generated for them.
• Your settings, such as theme and questions per round.

We do not collect your address, phone number, payment details, school, or location. There is no advertising and no tracking of you across other websites.

Where it is stored

A copy is kept in your own browser so the app works offline. When you are signed in, a copy is also stored in our database, hosted by Supabase, so your work follows you between devices. Database rules mean your rows can only ever be read by your own account.

What we store on your device

We use your browser's storage to keep you signed in, remember your settings, and hold your syllabuses and answers so the app still works offline. There are no advertising cookies, no analytics, and no third-party trackers of any kind.

Everything we store is needed to run the app you asked for, so there is nothing optional to agree to and no cookie banner to click through. You can wipe all of it with Clear all data in Settings, or by clearing site data in your browser.

Who else sees it

• Google, if you choose to sign in with Google. They confirm who you are and give us your email address and name.
• Our AI provider, Google. This is the important one. When you ask for an answer to be marked, the answer you wrote is sent to an AI service run by Google along with the question and its mark scheme, so it can be marked. The same service writes new practice questions from a syllabus code. Do not put anything private into a theory answer.
• Supabase, which hosts the database and sign-in.
• Vercel, which hosts the site.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone else.

How long we keep it

Until you delete it. Settings has a Clear all data button which removes your answers, syllabuses and profile from this device and from our database. To delete the account itself, email us and we will remove everything, including your email address.

Your choices

• You can use PrepVault without an account. Nothing leaves your browser if you do.
• You can leave your name and exam date blank.
• You can skip AI marking and mark your own answers, so nothing is sent to the AI provider.
• You can ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct or delete it.

If you are under 18

PrepVault is built for school students, so many people using it are under 18. If you are under 16, please show this page to a parent or guardian and get their agreement before creating an account. A parent or guardian can contact us at any time to see what we hold about you, or to have it deleted.
