Privacy Policy

PrepVault. Last updated 13 September 2026.

This explains what PrepVault collects, why, and who else sees it. It is written to be read, not to be skipped.

What we collect

• Your email address. Either the one you type, or the one Google gives us when you sign in with Google.
• Your name, if you give one. Optional, and only used to address you in the app.
• Your exam date, if you give one. Used to build your revision schedule.
• Your study activity. Which questions you answered, whether you got them right, how many marks you scored and when.
• Syllabuses you add and any questions generated for them.
• Your settings, such as theme and questions per round.

We do not collect your address, phone number, payment details, school, or location. There is no advertising and no tracking of you across other websites.

Where it is stored

A copy is kept in your own browser so the app works offline. When you are signed in, a copy is also stored in our database, hosted by Supabase, so your work follows you between devices. Database rules mean your rows can only ever be read by your own account.

What we store on your device

We use your browser's storage to keep you signed in, remember your settings, and hold your syllabuses and answers so the app still works offline. There are no advertising cookies, no analytics, and no third-party trackers of any kind.

Everything we store is needed to run the app you asked for, so there is nothing optional to agree to and no cookie banner to click through. You can wipe all of it with Clear all data in Settings, or by clearing site data in your browser.

Who else sees it

• Google, if you choose to sign in with Google. They confirm who you are and give us your email address and name.
• Our AI provider, Google. This is the important one. When you ask for an answer to be marked, the answer you wrote is sent to an AI service run by Google along with the question and its mark scheme, so it can be marked. The same service writes new practice questions from a syllabus code. Do not put anything private into a theory answer.
• Supabase, which hosts the database and sign-in.
• Vercel, which hosts the site.
• Paddle, if you subscribe to Pro. They handle the payment and hold your billing details. PrepVault never sees your card details. Remove this line if you do not end up using Paddle.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone else.

How long we keep it

Until you delete it. Settings has a Clear all data button which removes your answers, syllabuses and profile from this device and from our database. To delete the account itself, email us and we will remove everything, including your email address.

Your choices

• You can use PrepVault without an account. Nothing leaves your browser if you do.
• You can leave your name and exam date blank.
• You can skip AI marking and mark your own answers, so nothing is sent to the AI provider.
• You can ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct or delete it.

If you are under 18

PrepVault is built for school students, so many people using it are under 18. If you are under 16, please show this page to a parent or guardian and get their agreement before creating an account. A parent or guardian can contact us at any time to see what we hold about you, or to have it deleted.
